When building fakespans

$ go install
fakespans.go:25:2: local import "./proto" in non-local package

To avoid this issue a full path can be added: https://github.com/jeqo/haystack-idl/commit/ac50dc09b1e0f79a631007dcae7c14e724d0bf3f
