Hi i am doing the process of downgrading my device but when I do It asks for a root password and it says alpine is the default password but when I type alpine in the terminal it just says Connecting to device via SSH...

I've seen many posts saying a I need to install open ssh but what I don't know is how to install open ssh and also view the root password any answer is free to be said pls I need help with the downgrade
