I didn't work on it yet, because nobody really asked for it till now.

I think you can take a look at https://github.com/petertriho/nvim-scrollbar. Either use that plugin directly or take parts of it to include in your project.

I'll see if I can add this feature in nui.nvim, but that will take some time.
