Infrastructure Working Group

The purpose of this working group is to support the NDC Infrastructure Committee.

Goals & Directives

Improving the performance, availability, and reliability of the NEAR ecosystem infrastructure by;

  1. Facilitating and coordinating all meetings, announcements, communications, tasking, projects, and initiatives regarding the Infrastructure Committee.
  2. Overseeing of all project and initiative statuses including regular reporting of accomplishments and budget expenditures. Reporting statuses on the appropriate Github repo discussion forums.
  3. Managing the ecosystem-wide escalation of outages, incident management, and post-mortems including mitigations and the completion of those mitigations.

Common Activities

  • Conducting weekly Working Group meetings with projects and partners to coordinate projects, decisions, and tasking.
  • Conducting bi-monthly Funding & Voting meetings for the Infrastructure Committee to decide on Request For Proposals (RFPs) and Requests For Funding (RFFs).
  • Tallying votes and coordinating the distribution of funds.
  • Managing a Github Project with linked repo that tracks Working Group projects, decisions, and tasks including a projected Roadmap for public consumption.
  • Managing and facilitating a discussion forum on the Working Group Github repo for community input, questions, answers, announcements, and meeting notes.
  • Managing a Github repo for the Funding and Proposal request process coordinating funding status back to the Working Group projects.
  • Managing and facilitating a discussion forum on the Funding and Proposal repo for the debate and discussion of RFPs and RFFs.
  • Inviting appropriate project and partner team members to appropriate meetings to help with managing projects and tasking.
  • Helping review and refine RFPs and RFFs for clarity, conformity, and thoroughness towards gathering good information so the Voting Members can make conscientious decisions.
  • Gathering project status and budget expenditure reports for reporting on the Working Group Github discussion forums.
