The current site is not responsive, and could do with an overhaul in general. Would you be open to assistance with this?

Definitely would welcome any contributions!
On my end the main requirement really is just that the site remains easy to update for new releases, e.g. via https://github.com/PintaProject/pintaproject.github.io/blob/master/_config.yml currently

Sounds good. I'll look into it and see what's possible. Would be nice to see the site modernized.
