Thunderbird theme for eOS #196
Comments
Wow that is good news. I never use Thunderbird because of it ugly view. Now I want to try it at least. Do you want to publish Thunderbird theme as separate project? |
Thunderbird works better than the standard Mail app when you have a gmail account. I still find Thunderbird not very pretty but it's more decent now with the new theme and using the vertical view. Because it's still not 'awesome' I don't want to make it a separate project. I tried to put the toolbar on top and the tabs bar under the toolbar which looked way better but had problems with the menubar pushing everything down while the window controls stayed the same height. If I can fix such problems then I would consider making a separate repository for the theme. So there is still work to do ;) But enjoy the theme how it is so far! |
Okay I've made a repository for elementary OS Thunderbird theme! I fixed the problems with the window controls and all so I've published the theme. @sempasha maybe you can help me with an install script for the Thunderbird theme which you can find here: https://github.com/Zonnev/elementaryos-thunderbird-theme Thank you very much in advance! |
I'll try to do this next week. |
@sempasha It can wait because the flatpak version needs different css than the apt version. I need to complete the apt version before we can start with the install script. I will keep you informed in this thread. |
@sempasha I have finally made all window button layouts for the Thunderbird theme. As you can see in the repository there is no flatpak css, so you don't have to deal with that. So, I'm just asking if you can make a script which does smart install of the window button layouts from Pantheon Tweaks, just like the Firefox theme does. Thank you very much in advance and take your time :) |
Hi! Zonnev, I'm glad to ask you to test installation script for Thunderbird theme! |
Hello, I finished the elementary OS theme for Thunderbird.
If you install Thunderbird in AppCenter, create the
chrome
folder in:~/.var/app/org.mozilla.Thunderbird/.thunderbird/<profilefolder>
and put theuserChrome.css
file in there. Then enter the menu and select Settings, scroll all the way down till you see the Config Editor button. Press the button and search fortoolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets
and set it totrue
. Restart Thunderbird and the theme should be applied. You can download the userChrome here:
userChrome.css.zip
