Issue: location in atlantic ocean

It seems that new signups' locations per default show up off the cost in Nigeria (also other places in the past). Anyone experienced this - could you please point me to a solution?

I've just realised that if you don't provide an address while adding a point, it goes to that default location.
That's a start.
