Glad to see the project continuing post the sunset of original atom from github. I guess my question is quite common, yet could not find the answer.
I have the atom github set up already on my machine (Ubuntu 20.04) with many packages (for python/C++ development and linting). So what would be the easiest transition into this atom community edition, and will all the packages (along with the atom synchronisation package which works with a github gist) just work out of the box?
Can I update something inside the app to get regular updates from this build? Or do I have to purge the existing version, then install atom-community from scratch?
Here are the details of my present installation.
Atom : 1.60.0
Electron: 9.4.4
Chrome : 83.0.4103.122
Node : 12.14.1
