Two types of authentication are required:

Kubernetes API Access - this could be provided by a webhook authenticator
Access to HTTP services provided by tasks (notebooks etc). Basic HTTP authentication could be provided by Traefik using Forward Auth.

Implementing both of these as part of a custom user management service seems feasible.
