computer actually crashed while i was working on this page.

One of the ideas that I am looking at while I do the sea-trials and get the
boat rigged is to use one of these "Sailboat Outboards" they feature a larger
diameter prop and a very shallow pitch. This allows them to push a heavy
displacement boat without overloading the engine.

The main one that I am interested in is the Tohatsu 6 H.P. Sail Drive.

Tohatsu 399B645121 - PROP 8.375 DIA X 6 Pitch (ELEPHANT EAR) Mercury 812951A02 |
eBay not sure if it is a good deal but it would certainly be nice to be able
to carry an extra propeller or two.

Shift Damping System?

Another thing that i would like to research is if the tohatsu has a SDS
(shift damping system) inside the prop hub like the Yamaha ones do.

Another Prop

BLACK MAX (8.375 X 6") MERCURY RH PROPELLER, 48-812951A02

This prop apparently has a 12 tooth spline. Ill have to check on the
Tohatsu.... Yep the Tohatsu has a 12 spline hub as well.
