Preheat oven to 375 F.
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl:
- 135 grams all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
In a large mixer bowl, beat together until creamy:
- 75 grams brown sugar
- 75 grams granulated sugar
- 4 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Add egg and beat until smooth:
- 1 large egg
Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stop the mixer as soon as it's combined.
Fold in chocolate by hand.
- 115 grams (~4 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Use a pair of spoons to portion out 35 grams at a time, form into rounds, and spread onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Add a few flakes of finishing salt to each round.
Bake until golden brown (about 11 minutes). Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
