Rice pilaf

Saute until translucent:

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 shallot, minced

Saute until translucent:

  • 1/2 cup medium grain white rice, rinsed thoroughly

Bring to a boil:

  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 1 clove garlic, smashed
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.
