Describe the bug

I am trying to build the newly created aspire project. I am getting error below

Aspire SDK 9 works with .net 8 . but Aspire SDK 9 does not work with .net 9 I have tried uninstall/install/repair aspire workload. I had uninstalled and reinstalled visual studio too.

The workload is no longer required with Aspire 9 (which works with both net8 and net9). I wonder if you are hitting #6549

you might be right.. I fixed the problem by running

dotnet new install Aspire.ProjectTemplates::9.0.0 --force

and now whenever I am creating new aspire project it's building fine. But existing projects are still failing.

so.. are you saying I should configure <SkipAspireWorkloadManifest>true</SkipAspireWorkloadManifest> in the existing project?

@kapilkhub are you trying to upgrade them to .net 9 and aspire 9 or only to aspire 9? just asking so i can describe the appropriate steps.

@vijayrkn think there's some work we could do to ease this experience for customers? Maybe auto-repairing/tweaking/suggesting changes to the .csproj file(s) to match the aspire 9 scenarios?

hi @bradygaster , i modified my comment above at #7018 (comment)

but that also started working when I ran command dotnet new install Aspire.ProjectTemplates::9.0.0 --force

and I am also able to run old aspire projects. I think I tried too many things with one of my old learning project as it was not working. but my other solutions created in .net 8 started working after i installed Aspire.ProjectTemplates 9 with force option.
