@ajaniak — at the moment, I see that verse numbers are displayed in three different ways:

  1. in Candrakirana, the number is displayed immediately after the closing punctuation sign of the stanza, without any intervening space
  2. in Sarasamuccaya, the number is displayed on a new line below the stanza if the stanza is displayed over two lines (mainly, this is when @met="anuṣṭubh")
  3. in Sarasamuccaya, the number is displayed after the closing punctuation sign of the stanza, with an intervening space, if the stanza is spread over more than 2 lines

see screenshots. I don't understand why there is a difference between the texts and scenarios. basically, I'd like to see display 3 applied in all cases. is that possible?

The main issue is the lack of consistency in the encodings. I revert to delete any generics for stanza but it will create issue on the long. The CSS should be apply in the next hours, depending on servers.

thanks. let us talk about this problem of inconsistency, and how to solve it, when we meet on Thursday.

would you have time to review the major differences in encoding of <lg> that you find un our text editions, and give advice on which method seems best, i.e. most compliant with EGC, and determine any passages of the EGC that could be clarified so as to impose stricter rules? thanks!
