Image Updater latest git sha

I can't seem to get the incantation correct to grab the associated sha tag of the most recent latest tag with Argo Image Updater. The recommendation, per the docs, is to use digest, which does work, but doesn't work for us, since we rely on the Argo Application's images (and their tags) to notify GitHub about deployment status changes.

Opened an upstream issue to see if there are any other recommendations. argoproj-labs/argocd-image-updater#1013
