If something appears in multiple websites, I will only list it for the first website I find it in.
We probably don't want to do all these things, but its a good list to pick our favorites from.

UNITE:

A summary graph of what taxa are in the database. Theirs is interactive. We could either do an interactive one as well or a static one that is automatically updates when the site is rebuilt.

How to cite page
FAQ page
A service to blast one or more sequences against the database with parameters that optionally subset the database beforehand
A search functionality to lookup and download subsets of the database based on taxonomic group or other information
Preformatted versions of the database for QIIME, mothur, CREST, Top50, USEARCH/VSEARCH, and a generic format for blasting. This could also be a parameter of the search functionality
A news section highlighting recent changes

RDP:

A disclaimer about data submitted to other database
A contributor page listing people who have made significant contributions
Release notes for what changed in each release
Related sites page for other similar resources
Posters or presentations used to advertise the database. This could also include references to papers.
A tool that provides sequence IDs with confidence levels for each level in the taxonomy (RDP classifier).
Simulated PCR to evaluate primers
video tutorials for how to use each tools in the site. These could be hosted from youtube and inserted vis iframes.

SILVA:

Part of the UniEuk project that aims to provide a consistent taxonomy for protists and other eukarotes
A license for how the data can be used.
