Switching between Wayland compositors?

the wiki mentions that mixing and matching wayland compositors is not possible like it is on x11, i was wondering why that is. is this just a hyprland issue or due to how wayland is designed? my aim is to switch between hyprland and something like plasma-wayland using SDDM because my experience with kde+x11 has been... less than ideal. i need to use it though because some of the software i use doesn't play nice with hyprland. for example, unreal engine 5 submenus cause issues with window focus, and a few audio plugins i use for music production have the same issue.

to anyone who actually has a "dual-wayland" compositor setup, is there anything you needed to make it work properly, or should installing the base package work (i.e. plasma-wayland)? thanks
