First of all, I want to express my gratitude for Hyprland—it’s an outstanding and performant window manager based on Wayland, and I greatly admire the effort you’ve put into its development.
I’ve been reflecting on how window managers like Hyprland could enhance the usability and efficiency of modern desktop-level touchscreen devices, such as the Microsoft Surface and other large-scale tablets. These devices are underrated due to the low controlling efficiency, and leveraging Hyprland's features in this context could greatly improve operational efficiency and screen utilization.
That said, I understand that integrating comprehensive touch functionality, along with the necessary drivers and dependencies, would likely require substantial development effort. Therefore, my idea is to create a branch of Hyprland tailored specifically for touchscreen devices. This new version would incorporate touch-oriented logic to deliver a refined experience for touch users while building on Hyprland's foundation.
As I’m currently limited in technical skills, I felt so sorry unabled to contribute for it. Thus, my vision is to bring together a group of capable and enthusiastic developers to collaborate on this open-source project. I was wondering if you’d be willing to support this idea, either by offering advice, guidance, or sharing your thoughts on its feasibility.
Thank you for considering my proposal, and I’d be happy to hear any feedback or suggestions you may have.
