First stable release

This is the first stable release of xphyle. We plan three more releases before considering the public API as fixed (i.e. version 1.0 by the definition of semantic versioning, http://semver.org/) -- see the README for details. From this point forward, all changes will be via branches or pull requests, and must be accompanied by unit tests.
