How do I disable picture-in-picture mode?

I'm personally not a fan of the automatic picture-in-picture mode. I can't find a setting to disable this behavior. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think Kagi has a built-in setting to disable picture-in-picture mode directly. But it is usually a browser sitting.

To disable in chrome and firefox follow:

Google Chrome

• Open Chrome and go to chrome://flags/.
• Search for "Picture-in-Picture."
• Find the setting named Auto picture in picture .
• Change the setting to "Disabled."
• Restart Chrome.

Mozilla Firefox

• Open Firefox and type about:config in the address bar, then press Enter.
• Accept the risk if prompted.
• Search for media.videocontrols.picture-in-picture.enabled.
• Double-click the preference to set it to false.

If you're accidentally triggering PiP through the shortcut, you can disable or remap it using macOS' Keyboard settings:

• Open System Settings on your Mac.
• Go to Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts.
• Select App Shortcuts from the sidebar.
• Click the + button to add a new shortcut.

In the dialog:

• Application: Choose Orion from the dropdown.
• Menu Title: Type the exact name of the menu option triggering PiP (e.g., "Enter Picture in Picture").
• Keyboard Shortcut: Assign a different, unused shortcut (or leave it blank to disable it entirely).
• Click Add.

This will prevent you from accidentally triggering PiP through the shortcut.

2. Avoid Using the View Menu Option
   Since the PiP mode is accessed through the View menu, simply avoid selecting the option. If you never use PiP intentionally, you can ignore this menu item entirely.

3. Block PiP at the System Level
   If you want to avoid Picture-in-Picture mode across all apps and browsers, you can disable it at the macOS level:

Open System Settings on your Mac.
Go to Accessibility > Audio.
Look for an option related to Picture-in-Picture (this varies by macOS version, and some may lack a global toggle). If available, turn it off.
