In case you notice that the Google Play version of Trail Sense is published under a different developer (Trail Sense instead of Kyle Corry), that's still me, just created a new account.

Google recently started pushing a "developer verification" policy which will publicly show the home address of developers who have their account set up for selling apps (which I did back when I was in high school + I accidently set it up as an organization payment profile, no idea why). As you can imagine, this policy is not desirable for anyone and can be a safety concern. The only way to avoid this according to their docs is to create a new account that isn't set up to sell apps and then transfer the app. So that's what I did. The "Trail Sense" developer on Google Play is still just me, just an account that can never make sales on Google Play. Shouldn't have any impact other than seeing the app is no longer published by Kyle Corry.

Issue cleanup

I've gone through and cleaned up most issues in this repo. This involved closing out a lot of unplanned features (not likely to be used, fit into the use cases, etc). I left reasons for why I closed them out, but if you see something you think should really be included in Trail Sense, please reply with a comment and I'll take a look. I also tagged more items as help-wanted for community contribution.

Expanding use cases

Trail Sense will be gaining official support for foraging, fishing, and hunting in 2025. There's a lot of overlap between these outdoor activities and the existing tools and it keeps in the spirit of Trail Sense (wilderness adventures/survival). I've created a few issues for additional tools that support these use cases. New feature requests supporting these activities will now be considered, so please let me know if you have an idea that I haven't already recorded.

Note: I don't currently have plans to add official support for biking, climbing, or boating. I may add them in the future (keeping it focused on wilderness - not street biking or sailing), I just don't have time to support those right now.
