I remember having some issues with configuring a plugin before, because I didn't fully understand using opts and config together. This documentation explains it nicely: https://docs.astronvim.com/configuration/customizing_plugins/

If I remember which plugin I had issues with I'll add it here.

Edit:
The issue was with configuring trouble.nvim with lualine.nvim.
