What happened?

Received, "We had to time you out for a while." time out despite my previous 3 games being promptly completed without either side resigning or drawing, and without either side dragging out the timer.

How can we reproduce the bug?

On Android app, played three consecutive games to completion (each one at a time). No draws, no resigns and no letting the clock run out. Yet I receive a ban of 14 hours!
All three games were quick rapid 10+5 initiated from the home screen of the app.

Expected behavior

I do not expect a time out ban of any length for playing appropriately

I faced the same bug and I realized that the mobile app was aborting games while waiting in the queue.

My phone is a pixel 8. This has happened me before (app aborting games while in queue) although I never faced the temporary ban due to the app managing to find a game after reopening it.

Pixel 7a. Same issue. While waiting for a game, app times me out. I get a ban for an hour. Fresh open app, try to join game, get banned waiting for said game.

Same issue on pixel 6 xl. Takes a while to match for a game and sometimes I just get the error right away without any match

My guess is this is related to some async stuff happening and the grey popup that occurs while waiting. What is supposed to trigger it as a match found, does not. Indicated by the following screen shots, where the game has already started: yet it still thinks it is searching for a game.

This problem seems to occur less if you wait for a few seconds after launching the app. That way you give time for whatever async items to load.
