The wording on our 404 pages is not very useful - see example

I'll ask the content group to suggest new wording. There's some good advice at https://digitalhealthcheck.co.uk/2024/01/council-websites-and-404s-page-not-found-errors/

Thanks to Colin Stenning for flagging this

Any changes should only apply to new installs, but we should provide a doc to show existing councils how to make this change themselves

Here's some generic wording based on a few council sites

We couldn't find the page you’re looking for. It’s possible you entered the address incorrectly or you're looking for a page we've moved or deleted.

If you typed the web address, check it is correct.

If you pasted the web address, check you copied the entire address.

You can browse from the homepage or use the search box above to find the information you need.
