To retrieve the position there will be a *_get_cursor_in_pcm_frames() and to set the position there will be a *_seek_to_pcm_frame().

You can't use ma_engine_play_sound() to do what you're trying to do. You need to initialize a ma_sound object with ma_sound_init_from_file(). Then you can use ma_sound_get_length_in_pcm_frames(). See section 5 of the documentation: https://miniaud.io/docs/manual/#Engine. That explains how to use the ma_sound object.

The pUserData member of the engine's internal device (engine.pDevice) is not valid and you should not be referencing it.

Thank you. I used the high-level API as you said. The above example is still a low-level API. I now understand that it has been fully implemented. The library you open source is very useful!

If you're using ma_decoder, you cannot seek on one thread while the audio thread is in the middle of reading (you'll need to do your own synchronisation). If you're using ma_sound you should be able to call ma_sound_seeek_to_pcm_frame() at any time which should work fine.
