I have started using this wonderful program Peerflix, question I have is, how does Peerflix handle a VPN connection to remain anonymous when downloading a torrent, currently I am connected to a VPN which gives me an anonymous IP, but when I do a speedtest command from Terminal, it shows my original IP. Does this mean that Peerflix when it downloads a torrent, the site will log my original IP or the one assigned by the VPN?. I recently received a letter from my ISP provider saying that I have downloaded an illegal movie torrent, and this was when I used Peerflix.
Thanks

If you are using Linux I would suggest you use a firewall. See if your VPN provider can give you wireguard key. So you can setup wireguard with a killswitch. In that case, all traffic would go through your VPN and in case VPN is down all traffic will be blocked. Here is one working guide for killswitch for wireguard https://www.ivpn.net/knowledgebase/linux/linux-wireguard-kill-switch/
You can also check if you are leaking your IP through torrent for example here https://ipleak.net/
