How to get raw text like jq (without pipe to jq)

What I get by using jq?

yq -f extract '.render' *markdown -o j | jq -r  .[]

--metadata-file=Resource/2.yaml \
--metadata-file=Resource/3.yaml \
-o "Output/${File}.gen.pdf"
Open "Output/${File}.gen.pdf"

.render is an array of strings (each elements starts with a dash -) - which is why you're seeing those dashes still, its rendering .render which is an array. You need to splat the array to get the item values without the dashes - which is what you did with jq using .[]. Just do the same thing in yq:

yq -f extract '.render[]' *.markdown
