I would like to be able to have a second player join in and control a character like in Secret of Mana. However my idea is a bit quirky, basically I want to make a fighting game where I use mkxp-z for everything except the battle portion. For the battles i'll like to use a fighting game engine called Ikemen GO.
So basically for the intro, character select screen, endings etc I would be using mkxp-z, and at the character select screen a second player can join in, and after that I'll have it run a script that will launch ikemen go into a battle. after the match is over it fallback into mkxp-z.
My game will be for the PlayStation Classic btw so users won't notice when it switches to a new engine
edit: I'll also be content with it just having a VS mode where it starts off with the second player enabled in case it's too difficult to add a feature that allows a second player to join in. In that scenario I would make the Arcade mode single player only.
