Dear developers,
is there any idea to read the password with a qr code or bar code? For some user groups as smaller kids the password could be easier to use with a qr code. Also for gamification it could be a nice add-on to scan the qr code instead of typing a password. Yes, for this idea the plugin should work with the mobile Moodle app.
Hi Alex,
is there a chance to get a qr code reader for the availability_password?
It could be a good idea for students in primary schools who can‘t read and write. But it could also an idea for gamification with Moodle. "Find the qr code to get the next solution hint."
Yes, a reader for qr coded passwords could be an interesting addition for the availability_gps. We could use them for real treasure hunt with Moodle.
many thanks for adding this improvement suggesting to the plugin.
While I generally like your idea and can think of useful usage scenarios, I am afraid that this is out of scope for this plugin.
This plugin is quite old and is still based on YUI JS code which has been discontinued for a long time now but which is still hard to replace in availability plugins (at least to my knowledge).
If your proposal would be implemented, then it should be done on recent technologies in a new plugin.
However, I will leave this issue open as a reference for anyone who is interested in picking this up.

Please look into the Moodle academy "Gamification".

If you like to see these features in a real gamification app then please look at the Actionbound app.
