I'm in the process of upgrading a Jekyll 2 site to v3, asset bundler seems to work at first but after an incremental build my bundles directory is deleted.

Anyone else tried with Jekyll 3 yet?

I haven't at all. I'm not surprised that it doesn't work, as using jekyll --watch doesn't work with asset bundler in the current stable version. Currently asset bundler just switches to dev mode when watch/server are detected. I would probably just replicate that behavior for jekyll 3.
