I'm not sure who / how this should be assigned? I am happy to write the content and can add to my next sprint to manage the project.

Suggested changes:

Communication on the project
if EP is to become the 'shop window' of National level data on Politicians as part of a Democratic Commons, adding relevant information would be a good idea. Such as

  • Update the 'About' page to reflect integration with Wikidata / explain challenges in sustaining EveryPolitician and the project history to date.
  • Update the 'contributing data' page with a link to Wiki project and the 'Getting started on Wikidata' page
  • Add in a 'Getting started on Wikidata' page (filled with content on how to engage on Wiki, and seems like a logical place to link (off-wiki) to links to documentation for adding political data to Wikidata.
  • Add in a 'Examples of EveryPolitician data reuse' page; with case studies from Global Witness, Shine Your Eye etc.

Monitoring EveryPolitician use
In order to understand use cases of EP (and demonstrate impact) we could:

  • Add Google Analytics event added to capture the activity of website downloads, country-level popolo and names.csv downloads
  • Every page should have a ‘So you use this data? Tell us about it!’ contact form (inc Homepage)
  • Clicking a data download link should take you to a page that triggers the download - but also displays a version of this contact form. This is a voluntary option.
  • Add a mailing list sign-up that captures information about the country interested in, to help get an idea of people who are visiting the page but not yet using the data.

Feedback
Add an 'I would like to use this data - but’ form to:

  • Build knowledge of potential users
  • Understand edits that could be made to improve EveryPolitician
