I am seeing lots (1000's to 10,000s) of transients being created in the database which slows the site a lot.
I am concerned that this may be because I am hitting the API regularly, but when I first started the same system thats running I didn't notice it was happening (quite a few months ago).
I was wondering if anything specifically could cause this in the api (both JSON and PHP) so I can stop.

@ollydowning First port of call here is to tick the "Clear Transients" option on the Radio Station settings page at the bottom of the General tab and Update Settings. (You can turn transients off there also.) This should do the trick. Let us know if not.
There was an issue with metadata storage in Pro causing a similar thing, and that has been moved to a custom table, so can I also check which version of Pro (if any) you are using.
