What is the sentiment wrt. moving away from TX?
I remember asking a while ago, and from what I can remember, the thinking
was that of staying at the platform other projects were on was for the better. At the moment it is split between Translatewiki, and Transifex. Translatewiki is a fine tool, but regrettably has implemented Google Analytics.
Since then more navigation/mapping related software has moved to Weblate, and neither of the projects of OSM are even in the same organization on TX. Not that the functionality is even worth much on TX.

My recommendation is to register at Hosted Weblate, https://weblate.org/hosting/ and put all the projects in there.

There is a more extensive (though regrettably far from complete) explanation of the differences at openstreetmap/iD#7508

All the OSM projects are currently full of this sort of thing https://github.com/openstreetmap/merkaartor/pull/171/files, which from experience does carry over into translations most of the time, and coverage isn't good (Merkaartor has 3 100% languages, iD has one, and JOSM 0, with low averages), so everything could do with an overhaul. :)

One of the arenas where OSM readily outperforms the enemy map is in localized map names, so it would be great to make the most of this in also making sure the greater ecosystem and UI is up to scratch.
