Is there a configuration switch for where the library files are installed?

I'd like to avoid changing LD_LIBRARY_PATH for all the reasons explained in https://www.hpc.dtu.dk/?page_id=1180.

https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/module/GNUInstallDirs.html might help your case.
