I agree on this:

A chat is just a chat and don't show the nested icon.

If "all" meant "chats", then there should be a "all" button in the first place. I think the options should only be "Chats", "Spaces", "Unread"

I also think of separating them instead of having them overlap: Chats (only chats, no nested icons), Spaces (only listing spaces), and Unread (chats with unread messages).

I'm moving this ticket to discussions for further refinement and potentially mockups. When it's ready, I'd like to open it as a feature request on FluffyChat and implement the changes there.

Chats: This should show chats and direct messages. As of now, when I click on chats, I can't find my messages with the bot. The chats with the latest messages rise to the top.
Spaces: Only a list of spaces
Unread: Chats with unread messages

When clicking on a Space, only chats within that space will show. This is similar to what's there currently.
