The lenses are different between your Vive lenses and the GearVR lenses, so there will be distortion. Some people don't mind it, but if you wanted to correct the distortion so the image feels natural, this is definitely the tool to use.

There's a bug in the current version that makes the red and blue layers appear incorrectly with the current SteamVR. I have a fix for it, but the developer hasn't replied to my PR. See #10.

I created a beta release that includes my fix that you can use: https://github.com/synthead/steamvr-undistort/releases/tag/v0.1.12-beta.1

By the way, congratulations on the lens swap! The clarity increases substantially. Check it out:

Before, with the original Fresnel Vive lenses (same as Vive Pro):

After, with the GearVR lenses:

Hey Synthead,
I have designed a new VR display. 220 Degree FOV. You cant see the edges of the screens. Dual 4k at over 90 FPS. If anyone that can use this code I am willing to give equity in my company and pay them. I was the co designer of the first Oculus Rift prototype. You can search for me Thomas Seidl. Yes there was more than just Palmer Luckey. I told him the lens design and other things.

I use fresnel lenses. You can write to me at
tseidl at sharevr
with the usual com at the end

PS I used to have a Memory Moog, 303, 808, Jupiter 6, Custom Analog beast "Silver Machine", Spring reverb ETC. Sold it all to fund the first Oculus dev. Want to buy it back one day...

Hey Vrfreak1 - did you download and get this program working by chance?

I can’t get it working either - it say “index is outside the array” - I’m not sure if I’m loading it correctly or if you need to move the contents of the downloaded folder into something or just extract it and run it right from where it extracts ??

It's working for me: I tried synthead's version https://github.com/synthead/steamvr-undistort/releases/tag/v0.1.12-beta.1

Hey GrodenVR - thats the one i tried as well, where did you launch and/or install the downloaded contents of the Zip folder?

I just extracted it to its own folder right on my desktop. Nothing to install, just run the exe.
Bitdefender didn't like me running it though. Make sure you back up your lighthouse profile first, although the program does make a copy as well.
ALso make sure you have .net installed https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework

hmmm - Ok thanks - i did all that as well. although mine is extracted to "documents" folder so it should work - im getting "index is outside the array" error when i launch - now i am trying this with a HTC Cosmos Elite HMD so im guessing thats the issue, but its still using SteamVR with all the 1.0 lighthouses and controllers so i was hopefull it would work. Another program does work but its a painstakingly long process and lots of trial and error is involved. This would have been MUCH easier but oh well - I just saw your note about .net framework
.... I'll check that out thanks
