Bug description

I have downloaded the Signal 7.28.4 version as an apk from the signal website.
Have installed it on an Android 7.0 emulator.
After entering the phone number and clicking continue, the captcha screen appears. It crashes sometimes without doing anything and it always crashes after clicking "I am human".
For some reason after trying the 3rd or 4th time, the captcha screen didn't appear anymore. Now I am at the verification code screen. But after receiving no SMS, I tried to click "Resend code". But immediately the error "Error connecting to service" appears.
There is no way I can register.
And the device definitely is connected to the internet, because I have downloaded the apk with that device.

Update: The resend code did work after the 5th time for some reason. But I could only get past the captcha screen if it didnt show at all. I think it still crashes.
