Why did you join sktime's mentorship program?
For a long time, I've wanted to contribute and collaborate on open source projects. I have my interests in Machine Learning and Deep Learning. At sktime, I have found a perfect opportunity to work on an opensource project in the field of my interest under proper supervision.
What topics are you working on?
For the first month, I will be working on Huggingface, peft, lora and scattered foundation models; coordinated here sktime/sktime#6381
What are your learning goals?
learn and apply deep learning techniques for time-series data analysis
become more familiar with AI tools and methods
improve my python coding skills
learn how to design, write and test quality code.
What's next for you after the mentorship program?
For now I want to make 100% of this opportunity. After the mentorship program, I want to continue contributing to opensource projects, preparing myself for roles of mentor / core-developers for upcoming programs.
