Current doc. is light and in a mixed format. Create proper, nicely formatted documentation that describe things like: what sorts of files is this designed to run on, how does it do the x and y axis trimming, what assumptions or decisions does it make when creating the preview plots for different instruments and configurations, etc. Should put each of these in their own document somewhere.
