We have been autopopulating the email field but we would like to stop doing that, since some people with sponsored SUNet IDs do not have email accounts, and we end up not having a valid address to respond to.

We also would like to validate that email addresses entered are valid due to an issue we had with a bot. This was ticketed for H2 at sul-dlss/happy-heron#3553, but I don't think that work was completed?
