OS Version: Windows 11 24H2 (10.0.26100 Build 26100)
Problems:
Before updating to Windows 24H2, the WDD works properly. It automatically change the wallpaper when time arrives.
After updating to the latest Windows version, it appears to be malfunctioning. The wallpaper does not change automatically, and I cannot apply a new theme. The desktop remains unchanged from the theme applied in the previous session.
I figure out that enabling/disabling "Show desktop icon" will solve the problem. For example, when the night time arrives, the wallpaper should change to the dark one, right? But it does not. I have to get back to the desktop >> right click >> enable "Show desktop icon" >> At this time the wallpaper finally change to the dark one >> Then I have to disable icon-displaying function again (I love desktop without any icon).
This solution also solves the problem when changing different theme in the app.
I recently reinstalled Windows 11 24H2 (REINSTALL ISO file, ERASE ALL OLD DATA, NOT RESET). However, the problem still persists.
This problem DOES NOT APPEAR ALL THE TIME, but most of it. I love this app and just want it to work properly.
Are you using the Microsoft Store version of WDD?: Yes
I'd like to fix this in WDD but unfortunately it seems to be caused by a bug in the Win11 24H2 update and needs to be fixed by Microsoft. Other apps like Wallpaper Engine and Lively are experiencing the same issue.
As a workaround I could add an option for WDD to automatically toggle "Show desktop icons" when it changes the wallpaper, but this doesn't seem very ideal since you would see the icons flicker for a fraction of a second.
