scrolling downwards is janky with scroll multiplier

I use my terminals multiplier option to scroll half page every mouse scroll.
When using the select mouse mode, scrolling downward feels choppy and delayed, upwards is smooth.
It happens only on mouse input, scrolling the same amount by keyboard works fine in both directions.
Tested on arch linux with kitty, alacritty and foot terminals.
