Every time an item is rendered in the dropdown, the renderFlatlistItem function calls findIndexInArr, which essentially iterates through the entire array. With small datasets, the performance impact is negligible, but with large datasets—such as Realm queries—the performance drop becomes noticeable.
To address this, I added a memoized value for selectedItem, as it only changes in specific scenarios. By avoiding repeated index lookups during every render, we can significantly improve performance.
