Post Hackathon General Findings

This page collects several lessons learned and thoughts concerning future hackathons.

• Pre-hackathon hacker consultation with select veteran hackers to review the challenges and resources to see if things look good.

• Librarians felt that a post-hackathon in depth meeting with the hacker participants would help them better understand the work the hackers did and how well the challenges were addressed and what needs to be done going forward.

• There could have been better diagrams explaining concepts about Library metadata

• The library learned a great deal about its metadata and how to explain how its systems and data structure work to outside individuals and organizations.
