02 Tagging Support

The goal of this page is to give a table that shows which tagging formats are supported by which file types. Keep in mind as development continues, more formats will be added.

The table is based on the version: v5.2.0

Legend:

  • blank - Tagging format is not supported for file type
  • ☑️ - Tagging format is supported within the file type
  • ↔️ - Tagging format is supported as additional data at start or end of file (sandwich file)
  • ➡️ - Tagging format is supported as additional data at end of file (sandwich file)

Notes:

  1. ASF tags are part of the header structure of the file. Tag will always exist, but it might be empty
  2. Matroska tagging support is read-only as of the v5.1.0 release
