Thank you for the patch! What is the semantic difference that the extra space makes in this case?

.BR takes mulitple argument, rendering odd arguments in bold, and even arguments in regular font.
So:

  • .BR foo(1) renders as foo(1) — everything in bold
  • .BR foo (1) renders as foo(1) — only "foo" in bold
