Notes and Discussions

  • Gave updates on the current progress on the implementation side.
  • As standards were not discussed in our team before, we spent a few minutes researching standards from web3.org.
  • We have learned that we need to use standards in order to easily comply with guidelines or specifications established by authorities, industry groups, or governments to ensure quality, safety, interoperability, and consistency across our final product.
  • We have decided to implement the Web Annotation Data Model Standard because it will provide a better user experience while displaying more information, extending forum functionality, etc.
  • We discussed where/why this standard would be important for our project, and decided it would be used in the places where we displpay Wikidata informations - such as showing the search results.
  • In order to implement it, we will make sure to display linked information as bubbles/links.

Action Items

  • A new model that will keep the newly implemented annotation shall be added to our Models code - commit in lab by Mustafa.
  • The related annotations shall be displayed to the users - will be directly assigned to a person during front end implementation, but so far we are thinking to display it on Wikidata results page and possibly search page and forum.
