@RoySegall HSpell is under GNU APFL v3, I am not sure why you are suggesting to redistribute it under WTFPL which does not seem compatible AFAICT. I am not an expert on open source licenses, and I don't currently have the time to dive in to this, but I would be willing to merge a PR doing the leg work and presenting reasonable arguments. If you want to follow up with this PR please address the following issues:

  1. why are the suggested changes suggested? what do they solve? what may be the downsides?
  2. proof that suggested changes are compatible with HSpell's license + fix other relevant files as COPYING + if relevant, clarification addressing various multiple licenses bundled in this repo (e.g. perhaps you did not mean to redistribute HSpell under WTFPL, but just my code and the wordlists bundled with HSpell holding its original license?)
  3. suggested changes should aim as to not hinder the future inclusion of other resources with various licenses in the repo

thanks!

OK, I'll refine a bit what I did: I came to this repo to get all the words so I, and I believe that the person whom opened #1 need that as well (as it interpreted from the title of the issue).

The license which I added is for the words and not for hspell, which in my opinion needs to be extracted to another repo because the name of the repo implies that the repo only contains Hebrew words and the hspell software.

My goal, eventually, is to take the words in this repo, upload them to a DB on mongo atlas so other people would be able to use them for their own projects (practice coding, create games like wordle or meduket), and keep scrape words from hebrew sites and increase the words we have to offer.

Hello,

Congrats by the thread. In Damegender (https://github.com/davidam/damegender), I have downloaded free datasets from several sources, I am giving the sources and license of each source in several README files.

I suggest you a similar strategy. So anyone can read the source and to check that LICENSE is ok.

Thanks in advance.
