Fixing MRO and circular imports

With a few small changes to class definitions and imports, this now appears to work with the latest versions of Python and PyTorch. Tested with

• Ubuntu 20.04
• Python 3.10.4
• Pytorch 1.12.1 with CUDA 11.6
• torchvision 0.13.1
