Updated Remix to the latest nightly builds

Updated Remix to DXVK_Remix: remix-main+0f57dbb9, notably with a new updated bridge from a recently resolved bug where interacting with the Garrysmod Main Menu was broken . This update also removes the recently added bridge.conf file thanks to a bug report from cakeinspace in the RTX-Remix Discord community - the addition of the custom bridge.conf seemed to be causing a crash.

Hotfix: Remove cl_rtx_force_render.lua

Simple hotfix to remove RXT Custom World Render from CR that I'd accidentally included in this latest release. This feature is disabled by default so this shouldn't effect you unless you've enabled it - it's advised you disable this on the 32bit version. This .lua file is exclusively for the 64bit version and is incompatible with 32bit. This hotfix removes the feature from your installation.

BlueAmulet saves GmodRTX once more!

This update brings a new patch from BlueAmulet, the original author of the critical applypatch.py .

Major Fixes / Updates

  • Fixed crashes when shooting NPCs due to blood particle effects (thanks to BlueAmulet's materialsystem patch preventing division by zero errors)
  • Added new texture tags to rtx.conf from CR and myself for improved out-of-box visuals
  • Introduced bridge.conf in .trex folder for optimized GarrysMod RTX performance (Thanks CR!)
  • Created a wiki on how to install GmodRTX manually if the installer ever fails.
  • Sent a request to Windows to whitelist the installer as there is no malware or virus's. As always, the installer script is on this github repository and open source for anyone who'd like to use it in their projects

Known Issues & Workarounds

  • Custom World RTX sky rendering issues persist when enabled
    • Recommended: Set value to 8196 for best rendering (maximum)
    • May require Rebuild Meshes or map reload
    • For an alternative solution, check out CR's HDRI skyboxes: hdri_cube

Community

CR is currently working on a fix for the sky to render as well, on top of making the 64bit build of Garrysmod compatible with Remix.
I highly recommend you checkout CR's workaround fix for the sky with their HDRI skyboxes, https://github.com/sambow23/hdri_cube

Milk be gone!

This update comes with a huge contribution by the legendary CR who's been working tirelessly on making some lua scripts to make the once milky water in Episode 2 and Lost Coast watery again! This opens the door for many more maps to get remixed, many I had written off.

This update also comes with a potential fix for the recent crashing that was happening on the prior installer, it's suspected that the previous autoexec.cfg might have been causing this. As of this build on my end it's stopped crashing. If not, please report and I'll have another look at it. Recommended to uninstall the previous GarrysModRTX and let this script reinstall a fresh batch, don't forget to backup your rtx.conf if you have a configured file going! :)

We have an installer! This update brings an installer.exe to walk you through the complete installation, no manual installation required.

It's recommended to do a complete clean install of GarrysModRTX. This is to ensure you have the updated gmod.exe, an rtx.conf file that reflects the new hashes, and that mods are compatible. This latest installer will give you the latest GmodRTX. Hl2.exe hashes are no longer supported, any bugs or related issues pertaining to old hashes will be ignored.

-Created an installer, GmodRTXInstaller.exe for simple installation.
-Added autoexec.cfg for every startup to ensure RTX-Remix compatibility - thanks CR!
-Updated rtx.conf with the following,

  • Fixed first person weapons clipping into world.
  • Added Z-Scene up to fix captures.
  • Enabled particle lights - set to low.

-Shifted to gmod.exe hashes, rtx.conf no longer supports hl2.exe hashes/mods.
-Fixed Water mod in rtx-remix/mods folder to adjust to new water hashes.
